The Supreme

Continued--The religions which have considerable followers have been taken into account while remembering that the list shown here is not at all exhaustive as the smaller groups of people practicing their indigenous ones and various tribal populations spread out in every continent having their own religions being left out in view of their almost unlimited number of groups ever recorded. The contents do not follow a time schedule as strictly as shown in history books from the ancient to modern times ; accordingly dates have not been quoted here.

1.Hinduism--The term is misnomer ; there is no religion mentioned as " Hinduism " in the different scriptures, Purans(mythology) and the great epics of the older years. The invading foreigners from the middle east mispronounced ' Sindhu ' as 'Hindu' and this ultimately gave rise to Hinduism meaning thereby the old religion in India. This religion has two aspects :  Monist and Dualist . Monist believe in oneness and all other things being the manifestations of the One the Supreme Authority. Dualist on the contrary see things and objects all different and do not consider any single authority in this regard.
2.Jainisam--It originated in India It does not believe in any supreme authority as being the creator or maintainer of universe . It believes that soul, matter, space, time, and even principle of motion always existed.All the constituents are governed by natural laws. God can not create or affect a material entity.
3.Buddhism- It originated in India ( the birth place of Gautam is in Nepal ; he became Buddha after meditation in India). It does not believe in God or any Supreme Authority. There are however mention of gods like creatures in tantric Buddhism, which infiltrated later on.
4.Judaism--It originated in Palestine ; Monotheism is the tenet of Judaism.
5.Zoroastrianism- It originated in Persia ; it contains cosmogonic dualism and it is monotheist.
6.Taoism/Daoism-It is indigenous non-organized  Chinese religion with multiple gods and goddesses with no central authority
7.Sumerian religion-There was no organized set of gods in Sumeria.
8.Egypt and Mesopotamia-There were organized religions with gods and goddesses . Mardux used to reign as Head in Mesopotamia whereas in Egypt Amen was the king of the gods. ..........(.to be continued )

The Supreme

Continued--Multiple gods in charge of different departments met many of the questions raised in the minds of the humans over long long periods of time. However some intellectuals of the later homo sapiens who were possessed with greater brain power happened to stumble upon the most remarkable question ---Were these gods in charge of one or more department fully independent and if that be so how they had been maintaining coordination without overlapping on the jurisdiction of others. Long long time rolled away while generations of generations of humans went on thinking, discussing, deliberating on the question of multiple gods, their independent status , their jurisdiction, power, activity and influence on them. Till at length they came to find that the multiple gods were not independent gods ; they were subordinate to some other authority and that it was very likely that in view of existence of large number of gods, there were a number of authorities each of whom was entrusted with specific duties and assignments  of some gods. There were several authorities each controlling a number of gods and were maintaining proper coordination among them.

                    The problem to find out those worn out images /statues /dolls made of sun dried earth or burnt earth even in the advanced scientific 21st century still persists as many areas in many countries in the world are still archeologically unexplored due to many known and unknown causes. The scheme on keeping heritage sites may be hills, jungles, deserts, rivers, lakes , stone mounds, old buildings, caves, etc etc has been progressing very slowly as some countries do have hardly any appreciation for taking such projects as being not very much in conformity with their present thinking and belief. Besides there is question of investment of large fund ,to meet the dearth of most modern tools and techniques, adequately trained experts who can undertake such work and finally the will and determination to undertake such work. To explore the true history of humans it is but imperative that the hidden treasure have to be traced out and brought to the proper assessment and evaluation in the table of the erudite muster scholars who can present to the people as to what we were and from what we have been drawn as most civilized humans with no missing link.

                Further time rolled on the homo sapiens became more intelligent, more inquisitive , more thoughtful, more explorative, more analytic in consequence of which the concept of many authorities left in them  the most pertinent question--Was there a Supreme authority to control and manage all the authorities who were commanding the multiple gods ? The more the civilization progressed , the more concept of the Supreme authority got crystallized and finally the Supreme authority nay Authority took confirmed position and came to be named as God . He was regarded as the omnipotent power above all and the final head totally controlling and managing the world. The Supreme

God-The Supreme  : The Universe was first created or may be it created itself following which came the sub microscopic and microscopic particles and from which emerged galaxies. These galaxies gave births to stars, planets and other stellar bodies etc etc Our solar system is one planetary system within the galaxy known as milky way. It is so said after calculation that the earth one of the planets of the solar system was born 4500 million years ago. There followed series of changes creating mountains, hills, seas, oceans, lakes, rivers, surface etc etc. In this way when the life sustaining materials or ingredients were made ready and congenial environments with water, food and others in abundant supply life slowly emerged in the form of plant and later animals through multiples of changes from micro to the macro world of existence. Further the macro world plants and animals were destroyed by nature's upheavals and further new generations evolved. Through such evolutionary changes humans one day appeared on earth roughly about 200000 years ago.

                               Humans are the youngest creatures on earth and that the animals of macro world passed their days millions of years before the arrival of humans. Those mighty animals dominated the world and as far as we know that they passed their time as the other animals of present day lions, elephants, tigers, crocodiles, serpents etc etc Their brains were so underdeveloped that they hardly understood anything but the biological requirements and the changes going on in the nature did not make any influence on them. They could make some sound, but could not speak .They did not know as there was no way to know how things were going on or how they came into being. In case of water and food shortage in an area they would migrate from one place to another but when nature's fury like fire, storm, flood, earthquake etc took place they had to die and perish. TheSupreme

continued--Humans had been living scattered in different places of the world ; they developed their own way of living having dissimilar food habits ( depending mostly on climatic conditions and the availability of food ), different languages with different idiosyncrasies but with the common perception of the existence of several authorities in charge of different departments of nature and its products along with the authorities of different parts of physical and mental bodies of the humans. These authorities have come to be known as gods, each god was responsible for working of different part or department. The images of these gods were conceptualized , given forms with soils and later on  carved on stones with name for each of them and placed in clean and best place of their residence for due worshiping . Many such idols in different parts of the world have been found and some of them found places in well kept museums, some left to be destroyed in open nature, some willfully destroyed by humans themselves and some are yet to be retrieved . The most remarkable thing  is that though these early humans had been living at quite long distance apart with hardly any communication, they happened to hit upon imagining these gods almost with same idea differing however in figures and postures. These idols speak so much of antiquity of early humans but not many are interested to know and explore them and on the contrary brush them aside by blaming them as idolaters. It may not be out of place to mention in this connection that idol worship is still being continued in some places in the world and notably the India-Pakistan subcontinent tops the list in this regard ; the matter does not end here as the idol worship is now being done by the immigrant population ( mostly Indians ) in many countries of the world including Europe and Americas. The idol worship has been termed as the national celebration and rendezvous of all the people not only in the subcontinent but also in the countries abroad for the immigrants.  (..to continue...)

The Supreme

continued--Mind, thought aided by intelligence went on raising question after question to seek probable cause for the occurrence of events which used to come before the early humans when they became homo sapiens. They used to see the nature occurring phenomena like rising and setting of sun, moon, stars in the sky, strong breeze, storm, rains, flashes in the sky, thunderbolts, snow, blizzards, large sea waves, wood-fire, water-fire, earthquake etc and tried to find out as to why such things were happening or who were causing them to occur. They used to see more other things in the plant and animal world and many of the natural creations raised lots of questions in human minds. They first tried to locate as to the person/authority who was causing the phenomena but they could not find or see such person or persons over a long period of time. When such pursuits to trace the authorities in visible form failed, there dawned in them that there must be some very powerful person or authority in invisible form and was responsible to cause the events. They seemed to rely on such conceptions in view of their limited knowledge which did not give adequate depth to expose nature and its creations. They thus happened to discover that the authority was very powerful and that they should revere ,adore and propitiate so that the authority was pleased not to do any harm to them.
This person or authority so conceived by the early humans is no other than god who was given charge of one natural event say rain-the in-charge god was rain god, another was fire god, another was water god, another was thunderbolt god, so on and so forth. Creation of gods continued --love god, war god, beauty god ( god includes goddess too ), different food and drink gods, gods of different human passions etc. One may find the actual names of such gods and goddesses in the mythology of different ethnic races spread in the different continents of the globe. Images were formed and placed in the buildings known as temples where people used to adore and worship them. Such temples some of which are still there are regarded as heritage buildings or sites and preserved under international, national and local maintenance scheme. Some countries destroyed these relics being considered as contrary to their belief and conceptions. Supreme

Continued--Humans did not turn into intelligent homo sapiens overnight and step by step subject to being in the evolution process the size and volume of human brain gradually increased as a result of which they developed an abstract organ in the body to be known as mind. This abstract organ known as mind equipped the humans with thinking power and gradually this thinking power went on increasing and thus being physically weaker than many strong bodied animals humans soon found out not only more defensive but also offensive means to protect themselves from the attack of the fierce and bigger animals and to kill them as well by applying the  mind produced superiority which lacked in the animals. When the humans could find the means to survive from the attack of the savage animals, they were under tremendous pressure from the fury of nature. With the awakening of the mental power, another power which is the most important and necessary for the survival against all odds slowly developed and this became the principal weapon that the humans got from the nature or creator or God--he whoever might be gifted the humans with the greatest prize-intelligence. Thinking process started earlier no doubt but to be most effective to meet every contingency in life, its combination with intelligence elevated the humans to the summit of all living beings on earth. Mind with the aid of intelligence started pondering over many things which they were meeting everyday and found solutions as well. Such processes to settle on the earth by clearing many hurdles continued over prolonged periods and although life became more easy going by getting minimum needs of life , they happened to observe that many occurrences of nature remained totally enigmatic to them. .......(To be continued)
